These cards were created to be work on basic subject-verb agreement. I provided a quick grammar review to use with students if needed. The main purpose of this deck was to provide practice but you can use them to teach the concepts too. The picture stimuli are real photos of people and things that children can relate to. They come in a printable and BOOM card (digital version).
12 cards for is vs. are (a mix of plural and singular subjects)
12 cards for has vs. have (a mix of plural and singular subjects)
12 cards for was vs. were (a mix of plural and singular subjects)
12 cards for verbs that end in ’s’ or ‘es’ (a mix of plural and singular subjects)
12 cards for a mix of the above targets (in the digital version, mix and match the print version however you want).
Boom Cards Instructions: The student will tap the correct verb at the bottom of the card that goes best in the sentence (this is self correcting). I have my students verbalize the sentence afterwards. There are also two sentence examples with audio recordings for the students to listen to (example: "They is eating ice cream" and "They are eating ice cream." The audio is great for discrimination!
Printed version instructions: The student can use a dry erase marker and circle the answer or simply point to it. The therapist, teacher, or student can read the two sentence options if needed. I recommend printing and laminating for continued use! The printable version includes all of the cards from the BOOM deck in a printable format (48 total cards).
Assembly: Print and laminate the print version. Use a dry erase marker to make a check in the boxes.
BOOM Cards: NONE! Just open up in BOOM learning and play. There are interactive elements on the cards: Tap the parts of speech (this is self checking if you click “submit”). The student also must tap the checkmarks after they answer the two prompts.
