This activity was designed to be a simple, no-prep activity to target speech & language skills in Spanish while double dotting (connecting the dots and using a bingo dotter/dauber). My students LOVE when I incorporate arts and crafts into therapy. Each page contains 10 articulation words or 10 language targets in Spanish. The pictures are big and easy to recognize (words or word lists also included).
These are no prep and great for busy weeks when you don’t have a lot of time to plan. You could also send these as homework.
Materials needed: bingo dotters, crayons/markers, black marker or pencil.
Suggested use: This is how I use these pages in therapy. The therapist can use at their own discretion.
First I have the students connect the dots and we review the words on the mitten that we will be practicing (this is a great step if your student needs auditory bombardment for articulation). If it is a language task, I use this time to remind them of the concept we are working on. Next, if I am in a group, I will start working with one student and ask the other students to start coloring in their mittens. The last step is practicing the targets and dotting them with a bingo dotter. For the articulation pages, I purposely made the circles big, requiring multiple dots per circle. I have my students practice the words multiple times as they fill up the circle (the therapist will determine the number of trials per word).
Tip: A black marker works best for the dot-to-dot but you may need to use a pencil with younger students.
This version includes the following targets:
ARTICULATION: p, b, t, d, m, j (h), n, ñ, k, g, f, ch, l, ll, lblends, s, r, rr, rblends. I also included blank open-ended pages.
LANGUAGE: name the category, name items in a category, which one doesn’t belong, compare/contrast, wh questions (what, when, where, who, why, mixed), functions, actions, positional vocabulary, past tense verbs, plurals, multiple meaning words, and antonyms/synonyms.
Each page is in Spanish (instructions, targets, and caregiver note).
