Your students will love learning about the color pink with this interactive book! It is great for: basic concepts (color identification), functional vocabulary, describing, increasing MLU (mean length of utterance), matching skills, expressive/receptive language skills, and listening skills. There is a comprehension activity at the end of the book too! Also great for early readers to work on reading color words in a simple sentence!
I have these in all of the primary colors. If you want all of them in a bundle for 25% off, scroll down to the right to see the bundle listing on this page.
How I use this book: I use this book with students who are still learning to identify colors. It is a way to bombard each color (I have a book for each primary color). I also use it as a language activity (identifying the object after hearing a description). Read the “I Spy” prompt at the top of the book. The student will identify the object on the page that matches the description and find the matching picture symbol and put it in the sentence strip and verbalize it “The octopus is pink.” You can also have them circle the object with a dry erase marker on the print version! The last page of the book is a comprehension check, it has objects of multiple colors and the students have to point to and identify the pink things.
The book has 10 pages of pink targets and one comprehension check page.
Print version instructions: Print the book in color and laminate book pages (book pages are full page size). Cut out and laminate the picture symbols. Attach velcro to the book pages and the back of the picture symbols. I also included a symbol storage page that I attach to the back of the book for easy storage.
A BOOM Card version is included for FREE with this purchase! Perfect for teletherapy, distance learning, or a no print option! I love using it on my iPad for in person lessons too! Don’t forget to get the other color books or get the bundle to save $$$. The link for the BOOM Card is found on page 4 of the PDF.
BOOM Card instructions: This BOOM card was intended to be used live with the student (either in person or virtually). I did not include audio.
