These articulation mats were designed to accompany the popular four in a row game. They make it easy for you to target your students' objectives while playing the game (no need for additional articulation cards or materials). Grab the game and these mats for a FUN therapy session that students will LOVE!

I started making game companions because I looked at all of my games and decided that I needed a way to make playing them more directly therapeutic! Don’t forget to check out my other game companions (custom category on the left).

What’s Included:
★ Game Board (to use if you do not own a Four in a Row game).
★ Articulation Mats for the following phonemes in initial, medial, final positions, & mixed: k, g, f, v, l, s, z, sh, ch, j, th
★ Mats for pre-vocalic r, er, ar, or, air, ear, ire, rl
★ Mats for rblends, sblends, & lblends
★ A blank mat (write in your own targets or use open-ended)
★ 2 Editable mats (type in your own words or insert pictures for your own computer)

Assembly: Print and go! You can laminate the boards or place them in page protectors for durability.

How to play
→ Set up the four in a row game game according to the instructions provided in the box. Place a mat (with the desired target phoneme) in front of each student. Use the game pieces that come with the game and cover each of the circles on their mat. Play the game (each student taking a turn placing a piece in, trying to get four in a row). Each time they remove a piece from their mat, they will practice the word underneath (if you practice the word 4X per turn you will get over 100 trials per mat).
→ If you do not own the game, you can use the provided game board in this download. The game play is similar, except the students will be lining up the pieces on the game board mat on the circles (the goal is still to get four in a row).
→ Use as a drill mat: Have the student roll a die and practice the words that number of times. Tell the students they are trying to fill up their whole mat before the session is over.

    This product is delivered in a zipped file (multiple files compressed into one). You will need to unzip the file. Please make sure you understand this BEFORE you purchase. 

    To unzip on a Mac:

    1. Double click the zipped file.
    2. The file will automatically be decompressed by Archive Utility into the same folder the compressed file is in.
    3. Access the extracted files by clicking the appropriate icons.
    4. You can drag them into a file on your computer or add them to your Google Drive or Dropbox.

    To unzip on a PC:

    1. Double-click the zip file you want to unzip OR right-click to select Extract All, and then follow the instructions.
    2. The zip file will open a folder, showing you the individual files inside.
    3. Select all the files and drag them out of the folder to another location on your computer.
