Your students will love lifting the flaps to see what the children are looking at! . This book targets the core word “look,” functional vocabulary, MLU, positional vocabulary, and more! It has two interactive elements to keep your students engaged! (lift-able flaps & picture symbols) 

The core vocabulary word “look” is reinforced multiple times on each page. I also say “look” when they open the flap for more reinforcement of the word

Recommended for pre-k through 1st grade depending on skill level. Designed for students working on expanding language skills, especially focusing on Core Vocabulary. This is the first in the line of 10 Core Vocabulary books!

This would also be great for inclusion lessons and special education classrooms! 

What’s Included: 
★ Interactive Book-please note: this book has to be constructed just like any other book downloaded on TPT, make sure you are willing to put it together before you purchase. Lamination and velcro required for assembly (it is worth the work)!
★ Read and Color worksheet (the student colors the actions they find on each page).

The book's pages are about a 1/2 of a horizontal sheet of paper (right under depending on your printing settings). Make sure you check your printing settings before printing (some printers may put a large margin around the page, making the book pages smaller). Please see my previews to see how the book looks compared to my hand for a size reference!

Read the book to the student. At the top of each page the core vocabulary word “look” is reinforced with a picture of a child pointing at something. The student is will lift the flap to see what they are looking at. The student then will find the matching picture symbol and put it in the box. The student will then say the phrase “Look at the ____.” Tapping the boxes as they say it (model when appropriate) encourages verbalization! You can bombard the core vocabulary work “look” by saying it every time the student lift the flaps.

Expansion ideas: Use the book to work on positional vocabulary in, on, under, on top. You could also work on pronouns and functional vocabulary words (all the words are recognizable things you see outside).

Read & Color: I use this page as a reinforcer for the vocabulary. After each page in the book, the student will color the student we talked about on the page.

A note about the symbols I use: I use Smarty Symbols because they  offer a commercial license. I do not have the ability to use device  specific symbols in my products.
