This activity was designed to be a no prep activity to target articulation in an engaging way. It is an activity that keeps students busy during practice! Designed to be a play dough companion or a no prep worksheet (includes color and black & white). Now includes a Google Slides version with moveable pieces for distance learning, teletherapy or a digital/no print option. Check out the video preview to see this version.

This download contains following sounds: initial/final: p, b, m; final: n, t, d; initial/medial/final: k, g, f, v, l, s, z, ch, j, th, sh; pre-vocalic r; vocalic r (er, ar, or, air, ear, ire, mixed); rblends; lblends; sblends (separate mats for sp, st, sm, sn, sk, sl, sw, final blends, & mixed). I also included an open-ended page. First practice, then make the corn kernels.

*Please note: There are 14 target words on each page (2 of each, totaling 28 words).

Materials Needed: Play dough or bingo dotters/daubers (yellow or orange recommended) and an Articulation on the Cob page.

Assembly: If you are using the color version with play-dough, laminate or place in a page protector. Use the black and white version as a print and go activity.

To use:
Color version: The student will make a play dough corn kernel (smash a small yellow ball of play dough over the circles) while practicing the target words. The therapist will determine the number of trials per word (5X per word will = 140 trials).
Black and white version: Print out and use with a yellow or orange bingo dotter. The student will practice the target word and then dot the picture to make the corn kernel (the therapist will determine the number or trials per word). These are great to send as homework!

Variations:
  • Use bingo chips to cover up the pictures as a drill mat
  • Use paint, crayons, or markers with the black and white version.
