Do you need an engaging articulation activity to mix up your speech sessions? Grab an ink pad and this resource! It is an activity that keeps students busy during practice. My students love making thumbprint art and yours will too! No Prep and Ink Friendly! Perfect for Valentine's Day themed lessons
This download contains following sounds: initial/final: p, b, m; final: n, t, d; initial/medial/final: k, g, f, v, l, s, z, ch, j, th, sh; pre-vocalic r; vocalic r (er, ar, or, air, ear, ire); rblends; lblends; sblends (separate mats for sp, st, sm, sn, sk, sl, sw, mixed). → Please note: There are 12 target words on each page (2 of each, totaling 24 words).
Materials Needed: Ink pad or paint (red or pink recommended), thumbprint pages, wet wipes (tip: keep wet wipes handy to wipe thumbs between turns).
Optional Assembly: You can also place in a sheet protector or laminate to use with play dough.
To use: The student will practice the word and then make a thumbprint on the oval over the word. The student will place their thumb on an ink pad and then stamp it on the page. If you are working in a group. Use the blank template as a craft or reinforcer with any activity.
Variations:
Use paint instead of ink
Use play dough to smash to make the Valentine.
Use bingo chips to place over the Valentine.
Use bingo dotters
